30-Day Stay Within 90-Day Validity Window
Every Azerbaijan ASAN eVisa carries two distinct day counters: a 90-day Validity Period (the 3-month calendar window during which you are allowed to enter and exit Azerbaijan) and a 30-day Duration of Stay (the maximum number of calendar days you may physically remain inside Azerbaijan on that single entry).
Legal Context & 2026 Border Rules
When you receive your approved Azerbaijan eVisa PDF, you will see two dates listed under "Validity period of visa" spanning 90 days, alongside "Duration of stay: 30 days" and "Number of entries: Single."
You do not have to arrive on the exact first day of the 90-day validity window. You may enter Azerbaijan on any day inside that 90-day period, and remain for up to 30 calendar days—provided your departure date neither exceeds 30 days on the ground nor passes the final expiration date of the 90-day window.
Because the visa is single-entry, exiting Azerbaijan after even 2 days immediately exhausts the visa. You cannot re-enter for the remaining 28 days without obtaining a new eVisa.
What You Should Do Before & During Your Trip
- Count your arrival date stamped at passport control as Day 1 of your 30-day allowance.
- Ensure you depart on or before Day 30 AND on or before the "Valid Until" date printed on your eVisa.
- If your stay reaches 15 days or more inside that 30-day allowance, complete State Migration Service registration.
Common Traveler Mistakes
- Staying 45 or 60 days because the visa says 90-day validity—staying past Day 30 is an illegal overstay.
- Entering on Day 75 of your 90-day validity window and expecting a full 30-day stay (your stay is capped by the visa expiry date on Day 90).
Frequently Asked Questions About 30-Day Stay Within 90-Day Validity Window
If my flight is delayed by 3 days after my eVisa start date, is my eVisa still valid?
Yes! Because your eVisa is valid for a 90-day window starting from your chosen arrival date, arriving 3 days (or even 3 weeks) later is completely fine as long as you exit within 30 days of arrival and before the 90-day window ends.
Can I leave Azerbaijan for 3 days to visit Tbilisi and come back on the same 30-day eVisa?
No. The ASAN eVisa is single-entry. Once you exit Azerbaijan, that visa is used. You must apply for a second online eVisa to re-enter Azerbaijan.
